Please could someone remember Martin's article about taking advantage of Barclays offer of £100 for opening a new current account?
I took Barclays up on it and paid the two £500 minimum payments in to get my £100 only to be told it should have been two payments of £1000. I complained and received a letter refusing my claim and enclosed a scruffy photocopied paper supposed to be the terms and conditions of the offer which did say two payments of £1000 needed to be received. My complaint is still 'open' so if anyone has any evidence that they did make the offer as I remember it it may help me.
Thanks in advance

Here's Martin's original article:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1137572726,94211,
You had to deposit £1,000 per month for two months. Most banks that require a minimum monthly deposit ask for £1,000; the only exception I know of is Alliance & Leicester, who want £500.0 -
As I know...should be £1,000 each...for 2 months0

Hi
I am experiencing the same problem I deposited $600 only to be told that it was £1000. I am almost sure that when I applied it I read £500.
Can't it be possible that there were two different offers.
Thanks0 -
If it was the January offer then it certainly was £1000, it's in Martin's Money Tips for the 18th Jan:
I can't remember any £500 offers from Barclays. Sorry.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Barclays has a short term promotion on, which says "sign up to our online current account and we'll pay you £100." The bank account's pants, so normally I'd ignore it, yet its terms don't include the normal "you must pay your salary in". All you need do is pay in £1,000 a month for two months (which you can instantly withdraw), get the £100 bonus then close the account. Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
if everyone thinks it was £1000 then may be I made a mistake0

Ok - guess I messed up! Thanks to all for checking
