Loss at my debt

Perhaps you would like to donate ALL the money you can get on credit plus to MSE so us poor unfortunate ones living a life can apply for funding? Please post it in the FREEBIES section.
By the way as you are disabled I suspect you have a fre car on Motability and receive a huge subsidy from the social services plus are living off the money you gained through suing as you became disabled?
Or is it a mental mockerey disability?
Enjoy the bike riding and dont forget not to take the breathaliser test so you can go to court and pick up a bill there for drink driving (yes even this is possible on a bike).
Perhaps you ought to set up your own Bank and give money away to get into debt?

I'm not going to join in and have a go at you, however I do think you might want to examine the tone of your posts before posting. The idea of the site is to help other people save money / spend more wisely, and whilst we're all pleased you don't have a debt issue the majority of people on this board, and a large portion in the UK, do, so if we can share strategies to reduce that surely it can only be a good thing?
I'm sorry that you need to prove to us that you are doing better than some, and I applaud the fact that you have some many things in your life sorted, wife, kids, car, home, pension etc, but, whilst (I would hope) no-one on here would make a mockery of you being disabled, please try and understand that making fun of someones debts is also not and appropriate way to behave.
I apologise if I am out of line here, I'm just making an observation after reading this and other posts between a few people.
Please please keep the boards friendly between genuine MSE'rs
Thank you
TQ
TQOne day everything I earn will be mine and not the banks... ::rotfl:0 -
Thanks for the replies. I note that most people who use this site are willing to help others that are probably more misfortunate than me and long may this continue.
I would like to say, I do not intend to take the mick, but show, in a positive way, that if you saddle up and wish to have everything, there are companies out there that will offer you credit. Don't panic, my bank offers me thousands every month; I am just too cynical to take up their kind offer.
I hope to have pointed out with this post that you do not need to go cap in hand to these people to enjoy life. Yes I would love to have a new digital camera at a cost of £2000, but I just do not have the money at the moment. When I do, I shall make a reasoned judgement on this and not spend at a whim. I will probably get interest free credit, like when I bought my computer and pay it off in time so I don't fill the credit companies coffers.
As for making a mockery of other peoples debt, I hope I have provoked those who are considering reading MSE's book, to look at a budget and have, at least the chance to rid themselves of the shackles of debt.
As I have pointed out before, if I was in debt in 1996, I could never had afforded to go to University. Whilst there, I still had to pay my mortgage, which I managed to do for 2 and a half years. Keeping in touch with my Building Society, I was able, at marginal cost; take a 5 month mortgage holiday at the end of my course!
When I did complete my course, I had to move away, mit family, to a new area. Naturally I went to my bank, I could not use my building society as I had moved too far, for a mortgage and they saw a great opportunity to have an attempt to fleece me. Their offer of 12.9% was rather overboard at the time for £49,000. I took and afternoon off and walked down the high street in to various building societies and banks. Within days, the offer of 12.9% was well beaten and I took a mortgage out at 4.29%. The offer that came second got my current account and I closed my bank account, one I had been with for 20 years.
At work, I received call from the company that offered me a mortgage at 12.9%, their rate was falling by the day now but alas, I did not take them up.
So, I am lucky, ask yourself one question. I earn just over £21,000 a year and am lucky to have available about £1,000 of debt! Oh, I am a veteran war pensioner, who receives £1750 every four years and no car!
I note though that one respondent wishes me to donate monies to her, I would love to if I had spare. Now, I recall not earning a penny, and nought from the state in 1996, 1997, 1998, early 1999. Did you offer me money then? No, but if you took a risk and lost, you want me to pay you? Would you use this board if your business had worked? Have you enlightened other money savers of the pitfalls to watchout for?0 -

Not so. You can be done for drunk in charge, not lose your licence!0 -
Ok so I got it wrong slightly but I dont recall mentioning anything about a lisence.
I also didnt say that I wanted money donated to me, I am sorting myself out just fine, a little slow but plodding along. I havent stopped working for myself and used the board whether I am self employed or otherwise. Had I have known you or been aware you existed back in the late '90's I would have certainly lent you money and lost it as I was nieve enough to do such a thing to a then collegue of mine who now owes me thousands still but has no address to track them down to if I wanted ut I have learnt again from this mistake and feel I am again payin the price of my past generosities where if I had that money for myself now I may not have been through the troubles I have more recently which I am sure you are aware of?
Our business is slowly making enough to support us and yes you are correct in saying that I out to start a thread offering advice on the pitfalls and successes of self employment, but isnt there already a section on this forum to post such items? However I shall place it on my to do list thanks for the idea!
I say sorry here for being so outspoken earlier no excuses for my torrential outburst but in return you have also judged a book by its cover so may we now call a truce, let bygones be bygones and all focus on helping each other in a positive direction?
In anticipation thank you for your advice and patience.

Thanks Heddwen
I suppose I had my troubles in the late 90's as well as going to uni. I hope, through your stength and obvious tenacity, yous and the Mr Heddwen are able to do as well as I did.
But at least, by using this site, we are saving some pennies. I've told the good Misses Freddie that again we have 'no pennies' this month, it worked for us in the 90's, and still does. Now if you excuse me, I am off to get my bike ready for tonight.
Mind you, with other money savers out there and andycash, it looks like we've really bumped up this topic in the last few days, as long as those that have only ventured here to peep and not take part, save a penny as well, it was certainly worth it.0
