As a result of the faffing with my Easyjet and Ryanair refund I decided to have nothing to do with cheap flights for a while. So booked the same trip by rail with Deutsche Bahn instead of looking for cheap flights this time.

Especially noticeable was the lack of proper crisp clear acknowledgement email from their computer telling me that my refund for booking xxxx was in progress. So I re-did the process, saving screen prints of each step, as evidence of my refund claim.

Will be looking out for signs of reform in Easyjet's (and Ryanair's) behaviour for future decision making about travel methods.
  • What is it with Easyjet?

If you look at the site now there are no details of how to contact. There used to be the terrible 0900 number and at 65p per minute how could anyone justify a recorded message advising their lines are very busy and your call will be answered as soon as possible!

What is worse is that they obviously know they provide certain routes that do not allow you an alternative carrier option. So they siomply do not care.

What MARTIN should also comment on is there inability, or their uninterest in accepting MasterCard Debit. This debit card is replacing a lot of the old Switch and Meastro cards but Easyjet refuse to recognise and charge you the full credit card whack if you use.

I'd really love to see them be one of the operators who goes out of business because of the Ash Cloud situation as I sure someone would then pick up their routes and I fail to see how anyone could be worse to deal with?

I have only had to attach recipts for items and not a flight refund (we just re-scheduled ours). I would think that the attachement of reciepts is purely for additonal costs, but if in doubt why not just scan and attach your printout of your original flight booking form?
  • It's just taken a week to claim a refund from Easyjet for my parents and I was helped by the fact that I was claiming from a different web address (my sister made the booking) so I could re-register a new user name. It still took me several attempts to upload copies of the flight booking receipts and, I agree, the procedure seems designed to put off people claiming refunds. There was no phone number that I could see for a helpline.
