Help with photos from iPhone to Laptop Please

I’m having trouble transferring photos from my iphone to my computer.
My laptop is recognising my iPhone because it makes the noise when inserted, Itunes then opens automatically and syncs the phone (this is how I set it up)

However when I look in ‘my computer’ to open up the phone and get the photos and I had done previously it doesn’t show up.

In Vista, I have been into Control Panel / Hardware and Sound / Autoplay and set my iPhone to ‘autoplay-ask me everytime’ which is my preffered option. I have changed these settings to ‘import pictures using windows’ and ‘open device to view files in windows explorer’ but it still doesn’t show up in my computer.

i had a similar problem windows not importing iphone photos so got tansee iphoto and it does the job.
the catch is the free version only does the 1st 6 pics but if you are tight like me you import 6 pics save them then delete from iphone and import the next 6.
or you coulf pay for the full version but i dont take many photos.

iTunes synching is designed to synch your phone to your PC, not the other way around.

When I plug in my iPhone I get the autoplay coming up everytime allowing me to transfer my photos and if I choose to do nothing that's when it's sync's to iTunes. Are u sure u haven't accidently ticked the box on autoplay saying do this everytime at some point

I know that it syncs from pc to iPhone.

James that's right it should autoplay or come up in my computer. It was doing this fine earlier and then it just stopped. I restarted etc but no joy. A few hours later it worked again and I got the photos I needed but it's not coming up in my computer again now!

Each time it is definately recognised by pc because it beeps but hust doesn't autoplay or come up in my computer.

Phone is os 3.1.3 is NOT jailbroken and pc is vista 32bit SP2.

Have you tried different usb ports or another cable? I had a similar problem with my 1st gen a few year ago.

Ports I have tried but not a new cable. The phone is still syncing though so surely the cable is working?

Do you have PIN code set?
