fridge freezer problems help!!!!!!

hi my fridge freezer is not working right. freezer not fully freezing
changed thermostat in fridge part this seems to be ok
but there is anpother thermostat above the motor which checks the temp of freezer.
shorted out this so its out of circuit, so my freezer should br freezing up.
this is only freezing in the icebox, below where the temp probe is is only cool not cold.
motor running ok, swithching on and off for the fridge.
what is the problem

    The problem is that you haven't revealed the brand name and model of the fridge/freezer.

    There aren't any mind-readers with expertise in domestic appliances here.

    How long have you had the fridge-freezer? Is it still under warranty?

    Just Google the following words < UK Whitegoods Forum > and then scroll down to the Refrigeration Help & Support Forum section.
    I found this forum to be fab when i had washing machine problems and is very informative for all kitchen appliances.

    Fully defrost/de ice for 24hrs? Something iced up possibly.

    I don't know your model, but if it has twin compressors then one of these is probably faulty.
    Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!

    nearly 5 years on MSE and it would appear you have not spent that time spamming, respect to you :T and when you have something to add you have to then fall foul of the postcount preventing posting HTTP links. I have now bookmarked that site for the wife, she could use it rather than credit card.:eek:

    Known problem with frost free fridge freezers.

    The sensor in the freezer has too much ice on it so it is trying to defrost the freezer while the fridge will still work fine.

    You need to defrost the freezer by switching it off for at least 24 hours.
