Wind farms - anyone any experience

Many thanks for everyones comments, especially those with first hand experience of wind turbines. The problem with researching things on the net is that you find so much biased opinion, the responses on here are, in my opinion, far more helpful. We are going to have another look round the house tonight to try and work out how it will affect it. One of my main concerns is the effect on values, I have read the RICS commissioned report but felt the sample size meant it could not be used with any confidence. What I do know if there were two identical villages one with and one without a wind farm, I would chose the one without. As I have said before part of the charm of this part of the area is its rural location and prices are significantly higher than the towns only a couple of miles away, the windfarm can only detract from this. I personally like them, if I didn't I'd have walked away as soon as I learnt about them.
Thanks once again for everyones help, I really appreciate it.0 -
I quite like the look of the turbines to be honest - I find them quite elegant and graceful.
As for noise - all I can offer to help is the comment that my mum's office is about 200 yards away from one turbine (they're next to the river where she is) and you get the odd flap flap flap kind of noise from them when you're in her work carpark - but to be honest, my next door neighbour's infernal flagpole and England flag make a much louder flapping noise (and much more irritating).Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
