Can a buyer offer to pay the Estate Age

Sorry to jump in on the OP thread, but i am in a similar situation myself, and have pondered the benefits of "leaving the offer on the table".
Does this not provide the vendor with security that there is an offer for 250k which will be there indefinatley? Therefore they can leave it on the market for so many weeks to see if anybody else comes along and offers 260k, for example. My assumption is that this only benefits the vendor. I may be wide of the mark though. Your views on this would be most welcome0 -
Just make your offer and specify that its valid for say 2 weeks, after that you will withdraw it. Gives them a deadline to focus on...For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0
