Masters and bank accounts

I am thinking of applying to do a MSc this year.
Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge or experience of bank accounts as a postgraduate? Can I get an interest free overdraft (or a free railcard etc?)
I currently have a not much used "Graduate Royalties" account with RBS (I graduated back in 2007)

You should be able to revert your current RBS account to "Student" instead of "Graduate" and gain all the perks you get with it (except one off sign up incentives) - I believe the rail card is for undergrads only.
And, I'm not sure about other banks - just pop in and ask them.0 -
I applied to a couple of banks to get the postgrad accounts, which differ from the undergrad versions. I had a Natwest student account back in the day (graduated undergrad in 2004), and they would not allow me to go back to a student account in any shape or form.
I ended up opening Co-op and Abbey accounts, receiving interest free overdraft limits of £1400 (which has now increased to £1700) and £100 respectively. The Abbey account was a nightmare from the beginning so I quickly closed it.
But there are a number of postgrad accounts out there- given you're with RBS I'm guessing they'll have the same deal as Natwest about not allowing you to reconvert you current account to a student jobbie?0 -
I've had no problems reverting both RBS and Natwest accounts to student accounts.0
