Can anybody identify these plants for me pl?
http://s819.photobucket.com/albums/zz120/manic48/Garden/?action=view¤t=Garden1.jpg
Pl does anybody know what these plants are? I think some are anemones, but there some that looks like grass & are very invasive. The tall plants with little blue flowers, I am not sure whether they are weeds, but pretty ones, they are taking over the garden. Thanks

hairy leaves, small blue flowers. Bit like overweight nettles."Gold is the money of kings; silver is the money of gentlemen; barter is the money of peasants; but debt is the money of slaves." - Norm Franz0 -
Lawn looks patchy - check for leatherjackets.0

I think you also have some sage there. does it smell nice and menthol like? If not pleasant smell it could be one of the other salvia family that sage belongs to and not edible. I also think you may have bluebell in the back ground with all those leaves.0

The "grassy" plant looks like spanish bluebells, it is very invasive & is not the natural english species.
The taller blue-flowered plant looks a bit like a lungwort - lots of varieties of this, flowers can range from pink through purple to blue
The blue daisy looks like a blue marguerite.
If you can get rid of the bluebells, the other two will form good attractive ground cover, and will keep weeds down in that area.0 -
Just to add another I think the flower on the right is a blue salvia.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Thanks, I just moved in the house 7 months ago so everything is new and I have yet to identify what's growing the garden. It has a cottage feel. The lawn is patchy and in very bad state, really could do to have it returfed but budget will not allow it. Going to get rid of them as they are all over the place but they do look pretty.0

You're right.heynonnynonny wrote: »The little purple ones are anemone blanda - I have those myself. No idea on anything else though!!
Left of the anemone blanda long thin glossy leaves I think may be a day lily or montbretia. Right and below the anemone it does look a bit like lungwort with the speckled leaves, but the flower spikes look like a cornflower, and the leaves are very sage/salvia ish.Mrs_Complainer wrote: »I think you also have some sage there. does it smell nice and menthol like? The big patch on the right is cornflower - striking blue, I bet. I have them all over my garden and I love 'em.
Peeking out from underneath the cornflower and to the right of the anemone, you have a wild geranium. It has various names, including Herb Robert. My neighbour has them all over her front garden (I haven't the heart to tell her that they are weeds - she thinks they are ground cover plants). They seed themselves all over the place and are a nuisance to me. I can't stand the smell of them, mostly.0
