e-mail notification of Credit Card transactions

I would place a lot of value on a facility whereby my credit card provider e-mailed me whenever my account was debited.
In my case this would be a very effective means of fraud control, because I'd normally get the notification straight away.
Has anybody ever come across such a service or facility?
Currently I log-in to my CC accounts online, but they're normally at least 2/3 days in arrears...
Cheers in advance...:beer:

I think the online facility is as good as it is going to get for now.
I remember before the internet you had no way of finding out what went through your account until you received a postal statement.0 -
THe nearest I have seen to this is American express who will email or SMS your current balance to you every week.0

According to the flyer with my Citi Visa card statement this month, they have just launched the Citi Alerting Service. There's several free email or text message alerts available, including:
transaction over £500
overseas transaction over £200
cardholder not present transaction over £200
It says the default values can be changed to your own choice in each case. I haven't tried it, so can't comment how well it works.0 -
I noticed a box on the Tesco credit card site that said text or e-mail alerts. I didn't look at it because I wasn't interested. Will have a look and see if that is what it is for.
Edit: Just had a look and that is exactly what it is for. The alerts you can have are - credit limit is reached or exceeded, Balance is more than £..... (you choose the figure), Balance is less than £...... (you choose the figure), balance is within £........... (you choose the figure) of my credit limit, Payment due - remind me ........... days before my payment is due, Alert me on (insert date) about (choose event) [there are two of these]. You then choose text or e-mail alert and put in the relevant details.0 -
I got a receipt from a credit card transaction to my email account. The receipt came from the supplier and quoted the amount and the last few digits of the credit card. Many suppliers take a day or so to process credit card transactions and so do many credit card companies. An instant alert/reminder from the supplier is a faster option.

Hello all;
Many thanks for the heads-ups...
Looks like Citi Visa could be what I'm looking for... all others depend on me logging on; which I do now anyway...
Cheers;

Why would you need this? You would get the money back in event of a fraud anyway.0
