There is no limit, you can apply as much as you want. However lots of applications in succession can damage your credit rating and some financial institutions may look on you as in financial difficulty or attempting fraud if you apply too often and too close together. Each time you apply for a card a credit search is usually undertaken and each search stays on your file for 6 months.

Personally I wouldn't consider making an application more than once in every 2 month period (if I needed to)

i have to admit i made 2 applications for 2 different cards on the same day, one was a capital one card and the other was my egg card which i was successful in,

This caught me out - I thinks it's terrible that credit card applications show up on your credit report. After all if I apply for a card and I am rejected or they do not give me the rate advertised of course I am going to apply for another one. I still managed to get the 0% balance transfer from Halifax One however but it was a waste of time getting so many rejections just because I wanted a good deal.
