Latest gas prices from southern electricity

Hi,

I got a letter from SSE last week informing new lower gases prices from the 29th March. I did a few checks and although they have lowered my current gas unit price from 3.24p to 2.74p they have also increased the service charge from 13.36p to 25.57p per day(all before tax of course)! :eek:

They are really taking the mickey here.

Anyone else came to the same conclusion?

Both the website and the letter indicate the same service charges values and gas unit prices.

Well if it's any consolation, they are all doing it, NPower dropped my kwh rate down to 2.5p from 3.4p but increased my standing charge from 20p to 74p per day!

Looks like they have us bent over the barrel.

As the above poster said, it suits high users. Those who are a bit "greener", either by choice or because they have a smaller house/ different lifestyle etc, are being persecuted.

Yes this is robbery. I am quite annoyed with SSE for the 1st time in 8 years

EDF Energy have a tariff called Online Saver Version 6 which is pretty cheap. Might be worth checking that out.
