Hi how do I remove my card details from itunes please? And how do you use the itunes cards instead? I don't have itunes on my computer anymore so would need to do this through my iphone. Thanks
Sorry, I'm not sure. I don't have an iPhone and my iTunes account was suspended due to the fraudulent transactions. iTunes had noticed the transactions before I spotted them on my credit card however they did not think it necessary to advise me that this had happened!!...They advised me to remove my payment details from the account but as the account was suspended I was unable to do this. Hopefully someone else will be able to advise you.0 -

I don't think you can do this through your Iphone (we don't have an iphone only Ipod touch and I know you can't do it through that). It's easy if you re-download itunes to your pc. Select "store" from the top and click on "my account". Log in with your details and then choose payment details. Alongside the card details is a box which says "none" just click this and your card details disappear.
I am making a point of deleting card details after I buy anything, only buying via card if I forget to buy a gift card.
Edited to add:
You should really back up all the things you buy on your phone to Itunes on the pc/mac in case you lose your phone or drop it/damage it and lose all your songs/apps etc. I'm forever reminding my son to sync his ipod because he spends most of his pocket money on music at the mo and he'd be devastated to lose it all.

Thanks but I had itunes installed on a netbook that I am trying to return to the store as it is faulty. I have a new laptop, will it work if i install itunes on that? I've been told not to synch my phone with the new laptop though as I will lose all the apps from the phone.£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit

Yes it will work on that. Just download itunes and then log in with your details (don't connect phone it's not needed). (I know this because we had a different itunes problem this weekend and my son needed to download itunes at his dad's and it worked on my ex's pc.)

You buy the cards from most supermarkets and many other shops - Boots, Superdrug HMV etc, just like you'd buy a gift card. It goes through the till like cards for PAYGO phone credit and once you've paid just scratch the foil off the back to reveal a number. Go into Itunes on your phone (I am assuming this as it's how it works on Ipod touch) and there is an option to add credit. The instructions are straightforward - when told to just type in the code on back of card. (only done it once, back in October but there was nothing confusing)
I've never bought one of these online, but if you do and are just emailed the code, it works the same way.

I to have had 5 transactions totalling £160.00 taking out of my debit account, Apple are not interested and you can only email them. I contacted my bank Santander who did block my card after the 4 transactions were already taken, I filed a dispute after having to wait for them to take my money because it was bank holiday(what a joke) Got my letter this morning saying "Thank you for your recent claim relating to your account. Our records show that these payments have been debited out of your account on a regurlar basis (apparently regular basis means that I have use them once before)
I asked SANTANDER why they had blocked my card in the first place if I had used Itune REGURLAR they could'nt seem to answer that question!
Therefore we will not be able to reinburse the payments to me! I am so angry I thought it was safe to shop online now! NOT
Santander say" if I can get a email from Apple saying these are fraudelent charges they will reinburse me, as if Apple are going to do this.
Cannot belive Apple and Santander the biggest companies ever cannot do something about this!
I will not stop here I will get MY MONEY back if it kills me!
I hope someone will take this on I have googled this and it's happening all the time.0 -

You just go into your account details and where it gives the card on file it says delete card. I did it yesterday and it was simple.0 -
Sorry to dredge up this old thread again but I deleted my payment details from itunes as suggested and just now I went into itunes on the phone to look for a ringtone. Managed to download it just by putting the password in so they must still have my card details?? Was expecting it to tell me to load some credit on or something...£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit
