bluray is a storage medium
so theres no such thing as watching one online
AFAIK there are no legal sites showing movies so i doubt you will get advice on that
in my experience the PS3 browser is pretty poor for watching streaming video online
i stream HD content from my PC to the PS3 over a gigabit network
watching HD content online is never going to come near that quality0 -
The average blueray movie is usually in excess off 4gig. So to stream that sort of content for free would seem highly unlikely imo. Im no teckie but i to stream 2-3 gig a hour would need super duper broadband lol.Started advent comps 04.12.2013
1st day won bunch of flowers
2nd day ipad mini

BR films are more like 30GB
DVD's are over 4GB,to stream a full HD movie of 30GB would take healthy bandwidth
my local network couldnt cope with 10GB+ files until i got gigabit ethernet installed0 -
There is actually 1080p streaming tech avaliable, and it only needs a 2mbit connection. but I havn't seen a good commercial use of it yet. again maintaining even this bandwidth is difficualt for a lot of users.0

> for free<
You can't. LoveFilm has a streaming subscription service.
> just glitchy<
Sounds like your broadband isn't up to much0 -
BBC iplayer will stream HD content to your PC for free, limited to shows like topgear etc but if that works will be a good way to test if your PC & internet connection are up to it (it'll give you a message if your internet connection is too slow and causing problems -I've recently upgraded to a 24Mbps connection). From your description it sounds like one end of the streaming is too slow and thats giving you the problem (basically a bluray disk is 25-50 GB for single/dual layer -youy net connection needs to be up to downloading a file that size within the 2hr film run time to be able to 'stream')
As for movies the above posters are correct in that people who make them kinda want some form of payment so you'll not get an HD movie online for free any more than you'll be able to pick it up free on blu-ray from your local shop.0
