Fixing a thermometer

How do I fix a thermometer that has red liquid and air gaps in the liquid?

Buy another.
AFAIK this isn't fixable because there is now air in the tube when there should be a vacuum.
You could try shaking it toward the bulb.0 -
This has become a MAJOR problem for manufacturers of "conventional" thermometers especially max/min ones with a moving index mark.
Mercury cannot now be used, so they are using all sorts of other liquids, most (all ?) of which don't work at all well because they are much less viscous.
I bought a couple of max/min thermometers, which then didn't work properly, I complained to the manufacturer, who replaced them. They failed, they were replaced again. THEY failed - the manufacturer then sent me two very nice electronic thermometers with remote sensors - they are great !!0 -
Dammit, it's my soil thermometer.
I did try heating it right up and letting it cool down slowly, but that didn't work.
Out of interest, which one did you get for min max with remotes, because I can't find my min max one either.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
