Lib Dems up 14%!! (Telegraph)

General Election 2010: Liberal Democrats surge after Nick Clegg's TV debate performance

The Liberal Democrats have enjoyed a 14 per cent surge in support among viewers who watched last night’s general election debate.

Now that's what I call a big bounce! Not sure it will last but it is really quite stellar!

Good going Nick.

yeah, thats pretty good! People say its best to look at polls in a few days time, to remove the immediate reaction. I reckon it will still be a few points up.

What a gift of an opportunity this was for the libdems, surprised the others (esp Tories) agreed to all 3 of these debates. Nothing to lose for libdems, all to gain.

I like libdems, but I still get a niggling feeling they know they will never have to implement their own manifesto, so they can write whatever they want (e.g. no nuclear power stations... to be replaced by ? ). I think the other parties will be sure to reign-in Clegg in the next debates so the choice is Tory/Labour. Having said that, Brown seemed to want to adopt Clegg in the last one ;)

the only reason you'd vote Lib Dem is to stop David Cameraman and his merry chums getting in to power

There is a very good chance the conservatives will be the ones in a coalition with the libdems

i can't see this myself. their policies seem a lot closer to labour (but without the union funding). don't know how their votes break down but are there any stats about which party lib dem voters would most likely choose if lib dems didn't exist.

whichever way they swing they are likely to lose support from the opposite side. for example i might vote lib dem in another constituency but if they formed a coalition with the tories i never would again.

With thirteen years of financial mismanagement, and Mandelson pulling the strings, there's certainly nothing to recommend voting Labour back in. ;)
