Im a 18 Year old student at college. I recieve 30 pounds ema a week and that is all for my income ( i am currently looking for employment but not having much luck)
I was released from hospital october last year and i managed to secure a late place at college, however when i first started college my ema application was still being processed so i had to get an overdraft of £100.00 from halifax to fund my travel and equipment etc, unfortunatly towards the end of october a direct debit charge put me over my arranged limit and halifax began charging me £5 a day. but i had no money to clear the draft because my ema did not come through until late december. since the end of october i have been getting charged a considerable amount because i am unable to keep up with the charges. ( the bank is charging me £35 a week and i only recieve £30.00 a week). i also have to have some sort of money to live on which i dont have.to date i have payed more then £500 in charges The charges are getting to a point that they are affecting my mental health by adding extra anxiety and depression to my current condition.
i was just wondering if anybody would have any advice on how to begin solving this mess i am in
Any Help is appreciated.

Im still struggling with this
Have YOU spoken to the bank yet about this?
And read the lending code underneath where it says "I have not worked for NatWest bank since February 2009."
The lending code has information with regards to financial hardship and mental health.0 -

I would recommend that you get in touch with them. It sounds like the Reward Account was a bad idea to start with, as you would only have got charged for each transaction up to December if you had a normal account, but all Halifax accounts with an overdraft charge the daily fees now. If you haven't contacted them yet they will probably ask why you haven't been in touch sooner if it's making you ill so make sure you're ready for that.Getting married 02.08.14
