Barclaycard Finally Got Me.

After reading so many times about Barclaycard reducing people's credit limit to ridiculous figures i was baffled because they have never reduced mine in the 5 years i have been with them.......


.....just discovered my £1450 limit is now reduced to £260. :eek:

I know, it's not my money so i can't complain. lol

how much was your regular monthly spend?

Only reason i ask is i have a £1250 limit and 1 month i can spend £300 and next month it can be £1200 (holiday etc...)

Did they warn you first?

I had no notice whatsoever. They said it was reduced yesterday & a letter will be sent. I can handle the reduction but £260 is a strange fugure. When i called then they just read the standard script about how they review accounts etc, etc.

I think my monthly spend probably is the reason because i don't go up to the limit on it. I had managed to slip under the radar for a long time i guess.

This has got me thinking. Is Barclaycard the only one doing these 'culls' with credit limits? What about others like capitalone etc?

I've had a £5500 limit on my Barclaycard for a year or so. Had a letter on Weds to say they were increasing my limit to £8250!

Shame it was about 2 days after I'd cleared it ready to close it!
