Phone a pharmacist. Although having said that check if Imodium contains paracetamol - 99.9% sure it doesn't and then check on the leaflet inside for drug interactions - it will say do not take this product if you also take...0

Silly boyfriend went to the pharmacy for the imodium and didn't ask, now he's at work and asking me.. I've worked it out now though and it's okay to take alongside it..
He's in a bit of a state really, otherwise I'd moan at him for not asking the Pharmacist..
Thanks for the reply..9/70lbs to lose0 -
Is he ill with a bug or food poisoning? I ask as Diarrhea is natures way of expelling the bug and taking Immoduim only keeps it in the system longer.2013 wins: Persil Bunny0

He isn't sure, he thinks it's a bug, he's off to the doctors at 4pm because he's had it 3 days now..
I told him to go earlier, but he wouldn't listen..

Men, they think they can cope lol!!!! I got a terrible belly whilst on holiday on the day we were due to fly home. As it was a 10 hours flight I took Immodium and got a telling off from the Dr when we got back for taking it. Luckily it wasn't Food Poisoning, just a bug. There are some nasty things doing the rounds at the mo, I hope he gets better soon.2013 wins: Persil Bunny0 -

You do not need to speak to a pharmacist, just read the leaflet in the loperamide box! Paracetamol interacts with very little, the only risk will be if your boyfriend takes a drug that contains paracetamol and caffeine (can give diarrhoea) or paracetamol and a codeine-derivative (can cause constipation).Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Firefox that constitutes medical advice - hence my advice to phone an expert - a Pharmacist. I did then go on to check the leaflet didn't I! Incidentally it is not the paracetamol that causes constipation in paracodol it is the codeine. You have missed the point that whilst paracetamol has a limited number of drug interaction it is in a lot of products and so it is always as well to check that it is not contained in one product before taking another otherwise you may well overdose. Have never heard of paracetamol and caffeine having an adverse drug reaction of diarrhoea, but I don't pretend to have intimate knowledge of all drugs their adverse reactions, interactions and special precautions.0

I read that taking two parcetamol based products could cause further diarrhea, but it was difficult to find anything else out.
It hard because he isn't up to reading the leaflet and he's not a 'reader', I don't think he would know what to look for lol.
He has been docs and they have said a bug is going round and to take the tablets and paracetamol and come back monday if it's no better. He took a mouth swab too.
Fingers crossed.
And yes, he is a miserable sod when ill, so I'd best do my own thing this weekend.. well, working saturday, so just a long lie in sunday and then college work I guess.. joy..9/70lbs to lose0
