Hi there,
I am thinking about moving into a small 1 bedroom flat soon with my girlfriend and we are now budgeting on how much it will cost us.
I was wondering if there is anyone else on here with the same situation and what they are paying such as electricity/gas/water bills ? and also any other bills that need to be payed and what their total monthly out goings are ?
this would be of great help ! thanks people

Ok, I'll help.
For council tax, have a look here: http://www.voa.gov.uk/council_tax/cti_home.htm it will tell you the band, then have a look on your council website for the actual amount.
For Electricity, I live in a 3bed house and pay £1.00 per day (well a little less) - according to my energy monitor. £365 per year.
Gas, will probably be about, £500-600 per year for me. I have GCH.
Water - I'm not sure, still waiting for my first bill some 5months later. Remember you have fresh water and foul water bills (most likely).0 -
Opps, pressed the button too quick. Other things are TV License (£145 per year), household insurance (do a quote).
Also, the bills above is what I pay (gas+elec) - you will probably get away with near half that if it were a energy efficient (like a new build).0 -
Hope this helps - this is what I currently pay in a one bed end terrace:
Council tax - £100 (although I actually pay 75% as single occupier)
Water - £12.50
Electricity - £80 (I only have electric, if you have gas too I imagine elec + gas would be lower than this)
TV licence - £12 ish
Sky - £22
Phone/line rental - £15
Also don't forget to consider things like contents insurance (very inportant!), food bills, petrol/travel costs, mobile phone bills, broadband etc.
Good luck!:www: Saving for a deposit - Target £30k by 24/03/14 (30th Birthday!) :www:
