Help me fix my mattress!

I'm moving out of my flat and the mattress on my bed is, well, worse for wear. I used to store things under my bed and would bend the corner of the mattress back to get at them - I know, I know, that was a very silly thing to do. So now the mattress is kind of lumpy as the springs have obviously been bent out of shape. There's a kind of ridge down the middle now!

So, is there anything I can do? I've been using a mattress topper to sleep on which has made the bed comfortable, but that doesn't help in terms of moving out. Should I try flipping the mattress upside down and bend the corners in the opposite direction to see if they can pop back in shape? Or should I resign myself to having the cost of a new mattress knocked out of my deposit?

    Leave the mattress topper there?

That's one option but it isn't going to actually fix the mattress.

I would try turning it over and sleeping on it for a few nights to see if it helps. If not then you might have to accept that they want some compensation from the deposit. I suspect leaving on a mattress cover will make it look like you are trying to hide something.

The only thing you can try is turning the mattress over. But don't try bending it any more.
