How to transfer a large file by email?

Options
I have a CD downloaded onto my computer and want to transfer it by email to my daughter, but yahoo says the file is too large approx 30mb and it will only upload a file of 10mb. I have tried sending it as a zipped file, but it will still not upload to yahoo.

you need a file splitter. split and compress the files into smaller chunks
send them individually then get reassemble at the other end.

google will find lots of free programs that will do the job. i think winrar
    will probably do the job.

or if you have webspace then you can upload the file to your webspace where it can be downloaded by your daughter.

you cant send 30mb by email it is too big, will take too long to upload, most mailservers limit the sizes to 10mb.

    you have a few options
use winrar to compress the file and create a set of smaller files for the archive say 7mbyou will end up wit a set of files name.rarname.000 name.001 and so on email each file seperatly.

upload the file to yousend it and email the link to the file to your daughter
upload to https://www.rapidshare.de again and send the link to your daughter.

Winrar will allow you to split the file and archive it at the same time. When adding files it offers several default size options, but you can override them and insert "10,000,000" for 10Mb (actually, for other reasons it might be best to set it to 5,000,000 and upload 6 emails).

Remember to make sure that your daughter has enough space in her email inbox to accept the files.

Winrar can be downloaded (on a trial basis) from https://www.rarlab.com

Just use http://www.yousendit.com/ No need for any complicated file splitting.

Little John had it right, he just failed to provide a working link.

If you enter your daughter's email address before uploading the file, it will send her a clickable link from where she can download the file to her computer.

The link will expire after seven days, so make sure she downloads it before that time.
