googler Itunes is a pain in the Ar*e to use for taking music from the ipod. Custardy means a free app such as share pod that is simple to use without having to set disk mode show hidden files etc that is involved with using itunes to take songs FROM the ipod.

  • I submitted to the waves of technology, and finally bought an iPod recently. One of the first songs I downloaded from iTunes 2 days ago, Cantaloop by Us3, I listened to on Monday night on the iPod, went to listen to again yesterday, but I couldn`t find it on the Songs A-Z, or in the library. Any ideas?
Also, I have downloaded 4 Podcasts on iTunes, but seem unable to move them to my iPod. Ditto, any ideas?

You 'move' the podcasts to the iPod by Syncing the iPod to your iTunes library.

They will appear under a separate menu item from your music.

Where did you find the tune when you listened to it on Monday?
  • Hi, I have trouble with some songs just randomly disappearing off my ipod touch. I have 2 or 3 downloaded albums where individual songs have just disappeared from my ipod. I have checked my itunes library and they are still there and still ticked as items that I want to sync. I have tried sync-ing but they still do not appear cback on the ipod. Any ideas? Thanks.

Do a search in google for "itunes alternative", it lists several, they are better than itunes and allow you to drag and drop as well as arrange folders how you want, this works even better if you have a jailbroken touch. You need to set itunes to manual sync so that way you only need it for updates and it wont delete anything.

When I sync the iPod, it only moves the music, not the podcasts, or indeed the photos I would like to transfer to the iPod.

I bought the tune from iTunes, if that makes any difference.

Thanks for the help, hoping for some more...!

All my songs are on itunes fine & backed up, but when I sync to my ipod classic (the only ipod I have) only some of the songs from each of the albums have been stored on my ipod.
The ipod has loads of memory left so I don't understand why some songs are not sync-ed across. For instance I used to have all of the Alison Moyet singles album on the ipod and now I only have 5 of the songs from her album on the ipod. I've done the sync a few times now and still they are not going on to the ipod. I loathe the idea of having to put all the missing songs in mannually.
If anyone can solve this problem I would be really greatful

iTunes is proprietary, crippled DRM garbage.

Why anyone would use it or an ipod eludes me.

OK they may have gotten rid of the DRM, but what a fat, bloated piece of crapware.. Why not get a Sansa, Sony or Cowon and enjoy drag & drop?

    Or decent sound quality.
