LInksys PAP2 with Sipgate and Voip Stunt

Hi
Could someone help me understand the two line/sockets on the Linksys PAP2?
I've configured the PAP2 for Sipgate on Line 2 and Voip Stunt on Line 1 but if I want to dial using Voip Stunt do I need a phone plugged into Line 1 and another phone plugged into Line to to recieve calls on Sipgate?

It seems to work this way but I would like to just use one phone! Voip Stunt would be cheaper but I haven't been supplied with a phone number, only a number from Sipgate!

Hope someone can point me in the right direction or should I try OrbTalk as they supply a regional phone number (or so their web site says...)

Thanks in advance

  • I had a similar situation. I had an unlocked PAP2 with Voipcheap on Line1 (For Outgoing calls) and Sipgate on Line2 (for Incoming calls). I was looking for a solution to just use one phone and JohnK posted this link on the other PAP2 thread on this board

The post that has the necessary software is on the 2nd page on the thread above.

I installed it on an Unlocked PAP2 running version 3.16 and I can confirm, it does work. You connect the phone to line 1 for outgoing calls. When a call comes in on line 2, it rings the same phone on Line 1.

There is various information on the thread about downgrading software after you have installed the software, but I simply loaded the software described in the post above and it was working within just a few minutes. I don't use it very often, but every time I have tried it for incoming/outgoing calls it has worked perfectly. It has been installed for a couple of weeks.

    Thanks
    Steve
