How to Value Two Volvo's?

I need a little help. My grandad recently passed away. He owned 2 Volvo cars. I quite old. One quite young.

Somebody has expressed interest to my grandma about buying them, but i don't want her taken advantage of but have no idea how much these are worth.

I did a quick google but all the car value engines cost money. Does anybody know of a free site where i can get a rough idea of value?

Thanks in advance
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

Look at what else is for sale that is similar.

If you provide a bit more details, (model, age, engine, trim, mileage) perhaps we might be able to help you. :)

I don't really no much. I can bring up the details by using Registration plate readers that brings up the basic info, but there not mine so don't have a clue. Not something i want to guess at and get wrong.

VOLVO OWNERS CLUB FORUM might be a better place to ask.

The newer one will be worth it's market value, try googling PARKERS car guide, their valuations are free. The older one might have some rarity value or just be worth scrap value, impossible to say without far more details. Unless it's very rare, it's unlikely to be worth a fortune, IMO.

I've had the same situation with my mums car - she died in Feb. I trawled all the car sites, and also got a quote from the local car auctions and also from webuyyourcar.com. All came out with a quote that seemed quite fair.

Perhaps you could at least give us the basic info from the V5.

Model, Engine size, diesel or petrol, Age, etc.

And a rough idea of condition (do they have MoTs, when were they last driven, mileage etc).

    for a quick guide
    bump the details into webuyanycar
that will give you a lowest figure as they only pay low
from there you know roughly where you are

Without looking at Autotrader I'm going to make a guess:rotfl::rotfl:.

Older one £200-300 as is, £500-£700 with an MoT.

Newer one £1500-£2000 with a new MoT, depending on year.

LandyAndy is about right Id say.

I've got a perfect 1997 v40 and paid £1,125 with a new MOT, which was a good price but the v70 is generally more expensive.

  • When he bought the newer one it was maybe 2/3 years ago and i believe the price paid was aroung £5k (not positive).

It's a W reg plate, cream leather interior, all singing all dancing i think.
