If you want an idea of customs duty rates, click the link to the customs website in yankee rower's post on page 1.
In the Internet shopping article there's a list of common internet goods to download in PDF format if your computer can open that kind of document.
Among others it shows that laptop computers and digital still cameras are free of customs duty but subject to 17.5% VAT.0 -
Never used them before but http://www.parcel2go.co.uk/orderusaddress.asp also offer a mail forwarding service. I've considered using them as a courier for stuff I've flogged on eBay, but usually end up going to the Post Office.0

I'm off to Boston and New York in early September. Do people know of any old fashioned style 'bricks and mortar' shops or outlets in these areas. Mainly will be after clothes as with the misses!0

In NYC you have to visit Woodbury Common http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=7 Prices are on average a 3rd less than the already cheap USA prices. I went there a couple of years ago ans saved £'s! There are buses that go straight there from the main bus terminal (takes about an hour) but it is worth it if you want to go shopping:rotfl:0 -

I have a USA mail box with them. I'd steer well clear personally, both times I've used them it's been a disaster with them not knowing if I've paid them or not and quoting ridiculous delivery charges. £35 for a DVD!Debt in 1993: £35,000 | Debt in 2006: £0 | Assets in 2006: £2.3m and counting. :j

Perhaps it might be a good time to invest in a few dollars and exchange them in to pounds later when the rate changes again. Not sure how much you need to make a decent return though.Current Debt £1300 - Egg 0%
