UK's Most EXPENSIVE DIY Fluid

I was in Homebase this afternoon and spotted what I believe to be the UK's (if not the World's) most EXPENSIVE DIY Fluid.

So how much does Homebase feel is a fair price to charge for ONE LITRE of their Grouting Fluid?

£50???

Higher...

£100

Higher...

£500

Higher...

I'll tell you. Homebase's Grouting Pen contains just 7ccs (about a thimble-full) of grouting fluid and costs £4.99. Their label shows this as a cost of...

£998 per litre

If you don't believe me, look for Homebase's INTERNATIONAL GROUTING PEN and prepare yourself for a shock.

Is this the UK's most expensive DIY fluid?

Do you know of a bigger rip-off?

I really can't see what you're getting at here - so you multiply up the contents of a tiny grouting pen to give you a price for a litre of the stuff and create your first thread on MSE to tell us that the price is therefore exorbitant?

Isn't it obvious that you're obviously not meant to be using a grouting pen that much?

I mean I could multiply up the cost of a roll of wallpaper and complain about the cost per square mile but it wouldn't make much sense would it?

That price is wrong though. If its 7ccs for £4.99 then its £712.86 per litre. So its really a bargain...

Rearrange these words to get an appropriately informative phrase:

    a get life
Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

The only thing wrong here is the system has given an unsuitable shelf edge ticket that compares at the wrong level. It should have been a cost per 10ml say, as you'd never buy in any larger quantities.

its this kinda thing I like so much, I just keep coming back. Ormus and I,both eh matey.
Just too add fuel. I paid 60.8p for a litre of LPG today, I was livid, I normally pay just 0.58p (appx 17p a mile at that.) Then I noticed another Range Rover driver putting £143's of petrol in his car. Oh life is great, and MSE is not the only place to make me smile. 8-)

OP, if you are going to join in this forum please find a subject that is not completely irrelevant. What does it matter what a litre of fluid costs, if you are never going to need a litre.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
