I don't think laptops use that much power tbh, so I'd be a bit concerned. Robot vacuum does sound good though!
Hope you're feeling better - do you know why you're getting through the g@viscon or is it something you should get checked out?
Well done on the lack of impulse spends. It's really hard at the moment - post and parcels are literally the only exciting thing happening!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Oops, just lost a big post.Hi Vix, it’s not as bad today and I made a point of eating better and drinking camomile tea, I think it’s just another of the myriad of stress related things I’ve been getting in the last year! Probably due to lockdown and too much time on my hands to worry 🙄
Today the macerator in the main toilet got blocked, it was bad, really bad! Whilst the waste (sorry!) was overflowing and I was in the phone to dh trying to find out what to do, the cat decided to pee on the hall floor, it really was like a comedy sketch 😂 still we are fixed and very bleached everywhere now.Still no word on the electric dd , I think it’s not just multiple laptops Vix, it’s TVs, record players, games consoles, de humidifiers, long showers etc. I could go on and on, will see what the next bill says I guess.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -
Oh how is the cat now? She wasn't feeling too good a little while ago.
You... have had a day and a half!I don't know what you did to fix it and I have the feeling that I won't want to know!

@newgirly - we're great - thanks for asking
We are currently on £49/month for the utilities (3 bed semi), but we have solar panels, all LED lightbulbs and A or higher rated appliances with the exception of the tumble dryer. I am also a thermostat tyrant and keep it at 19!

Oh what a day you had NG!
Glad the indigestion is just stress-related (I didn't want to add to your health-worry issues!). I see what you mean about the power - the consoles use a fair bit, as do electric showers (our smart meter turns red when someone's in the shower - it's the only time the usage gets that high!)
Ed - 19? It must be roasting in your house! Ours is 17 during the day and 17.5 in the evening - any hotter and we'd be melting! (And this is a concession to the fact that DH is working from home (and has taken over paying the G&E) - normally I'd just boost when it got to 16 and then have it a bit warmer in the evenings).Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I can't be doing with feeling cold (plus it's the one thing guaranteed to set off my asthma and I'd just be coughing continuously). There's no thermostat here, but the rads are definitely set to "toasty". I'm always arguing with BF about the heating at his place!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Vix, I’d have ours at 17 too if I could, for some reason it’s cool here even when its 20 odd, the living room is always cold so we end up with a fire battle , on when I’m not there off when I am 😆 The kids do the usual T-shirt’s and shorts and moan they are cold still, it’s a battle they won’t win!A bit of home hairdressing done today, not as cheap as it could have been as the first pack I put on I forgot to add the bleach powder 😱, luckily I got a new pack today in the Asda shop and my hair has survived ok. Then a face pack, nails painted and a long soak, followed by Ru Paul’s drag race (dd’s fave) a really productive day 😆
Dinner of jacket potatoes and beans/coleslaw and chocolate orange Malteser bunnies 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁3 -
I decided to make the £5k per year grocery budget £400 pm with a £16.66 float to be saved towards Xmas food. £400 is easier to keep track of too, the only fly in the ointment is that for the rest of this month I currently have £19.37 left for seven adults to feed 🤔 it may be tight!I’ve come across a new website today which may help a little ‘tiny budget cooking .com’ not had time to have a good look yet and it’s not as cheap as Jack monroe but it could helpful. Tonight’s dinner was chicken tikka / veg curry made with approved foods masala jars and some Kashmiri paste and a few packs of nan with pilau rice made form mr t value rice, it was much nicer than I expected. Dinners need to be quite big as dh for example doesn’t eat through the day so can eat way more than a usual portion in the evening, I’ll need to get my thinking cap on and make a bit of an effort for the next week and a half, we have some store cupboard stiff but not much fresh stuff.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5
