Happy Birthday! (I've been a secret reader but I'm trying to engage more!) I'm jealous of the victoria sponge - yummy

You've done so well with your mortgage overpayments from the start of this post to this page here! Just had a good read of your OP now and you've made me realise that my home insurance is well expensive! I need to remember that when its up for renewal.

Hope you get round to taking a look and doing your next OP soon but also hope you don't do too much of that on your birthday! :)

Happy birthday newgirly (I always remember yours as it's the same day as my mum). That cake sounds delicious!

Hi xspender, cath, vix, and kaycastle thansk for the birthday wishes, happy birthday to your mum too cath :)

Welcome kaycastle, thanks for reading but don’t be a secret reader, we don’t bite :D would you think about starting a diary perhaps?

Good birthday so far (except a late night followed by dhs work alarm waking me up at 6am as he forgot to cancel it) I managed to keep my hands from his throat though and enjoyed the rest of the day :rotfl: lunch at a pub with dh, Dd , boyfriend and his dd, followed by the lovely cake at home while watching Toy story two.

I was very spoilt and got something lovely presents from friends and even a ticket to see the happy Monday’s with ds1 - who has promised to stand near me unlike the last gig :rotfl:

Best friend got me some nice presents but also five birthday cards all really mushy best friend ones as she liked them all, so sweet!

Off to raid my wardrobe again as I’m having outfit dilemmas for the party tonight, bought a lovely lace dress from Zara I like but it was £40 and I’m not too sure how often I would wear it as it’s short, can’t bear to think of wasting then money so may take it back if I can find something suitable in the next hour.

Ahhhh forgetting to switch off alarm sucks :)
But I love a good pub :) I have started a diary just today as I got some pension advice on here and it finally inspired me to get active.

Glad you had a good birthday!

Great kaycastle I’ll pop in and have a nosey around your diary :)

The party went well, we did sneak off a bit early and gave a lift to a friend. Unfortunately though we heard of some very upsetting news, one of my friends whom we were out with tonight, their daughters friend was the poor young girl who was stabbed and killed last night. It seems it was possibly a random attack as she was sitting chatting with her boyfriend in the park. I can’t even being to imagine what the family are going through. :(

Oh my I was watching that on the news last night! How very awful....I really don't know what's happening in this world these days.

Hope everyone who knows her are bearing up as best as they can. Stay strong...... xxxx

Indeed mortgage minimiser, we didn’t know the poor girl, it’s just very sad and so pointless.

It was mil’s birthday so we visited and she forcefed me lots of cake so I don’t think I’ll have a loss this week when I weigh in tomorrow.

Too tired after not getting much sleep again so I will sort the finances out tomorrow when I’m a bit more with it, I’m already tucked up in bed :D
