Thanks TYO, kids all better now :j

Hi Pammy, my 2 boys finish wednesday and DD tomorrow lunchtime. I have a feeling I will have a few extras for tea before the week is out as well.

I have just checked my list and I am doing quite well so far, the only problem is going to be tidying the house as this is not a 10 min job. More like a 10 day job at the moment :o

I'm going to check in later and cross some off, then write a new list for tomorrow. This WILL be the first xmas the house is tidy before xmas eve/presents wrapped/food bought/washing up to date/kids not bickering...oh sorry, I drifted off into a dream world :D

I'm not doing too well with the list today, have hardly crossed anything off but have been busy all day. I currently have 4 noisy 10 yr old boys for an xmas tea so by the time I've cleared up and taken them home I don't think I'll have much energy left.
I might try and get the last few presents wrapped tonight.
DD has her friend for the day tomorrow as her mum is at work and school is finished, lovely girl, but I only have 2 days left to sort out the whole house and I'm just never going to get everything done. Mum wants me to help with food shopping tomorrow as well. I don't mind having kids round but sometimes the timing is not great, and I don't like to say no.
Think I'm just feeling tired at the moment, lots of us are I think . It does'nt help dh keeps crashing about at 5am when he goes to work so I've got up then the last few days too.

Ok someone tell me off please, one of the boys parents just came to pick him up and I said: oh you are earlier than I expected, so he said oh Ill come back a bit later then  So I still have all of them.I'm my own worst enemy sometimes!

  • I find that quite cheeky actually that they came and then left again.

Actually, i can't tell you off as i know i will be my own worst enemy too by the time they are old enough to have friends round. Make time for some time for yourself.

I'm getting to the stage where i know it all won't get done, so i am doing the things i know will make it better and the kids won't remess like get rid of the ironing pile.

No-ones coming round, so i don't care as much as i should.

I agree michelle, i'm not going to get everything done either, I may have to revert to cheating like I have in previous years and put the ironing in bin bags in the boot of the car...voila! no ironing to look at xmas day :rotfl:

Sometimes its hard to get things into perspective, I want a lovely showhome for xmas but its not going to happen.I think my energy is best spent enjoying it and making sure the kids are too, not stressing over what I have'nt done.

I have done a couple of good deeds for the day, went shopping with mum and gran to get last of food for xmas day. Thank god its not me paying as she's spent almost £500 so far this week
Also picked up a friends boy and took him home for tea. General running around but nothing really that was on my to do list. Tomorrow I will be selfish, no friends round , no lifts anywhere!

I have just rung the bank about the mortgage , I have sent off the paperwork to switch it to interest only but forgot to put in the cheque for £50 for the fee. They said I can ring back tomorrow and pay over the phone.
I thought I would also ask a daft (or I thought it was) question, can you OP if you are interest only, and he said you can still op by 20% of your (interest) payment per month as when on repayment.

This would be a much lower amount than before , about £85 ish per month. But if I did do this (there is no money to do this) then I could get the mortgage sub £150k just by the time I switch back to repayment when the loft is done.

I know I won't have the money for this , but you never know, if I do pay my target of £1250 per month and have a big tcb payout once in a while or some other miracle there is another place the cash can go!

So I'm going to add another impossible target to my list :D
    1. save £12,000
    2. pay £3,000 off 0%CC
    3. lose 1 1/2 stones
    4. OP mortgage by £1020
I think thats enough to be getting on with this year, Dh will be earning less than last year so miracles need to happen I think;)

    Hi newgirly,

looks like you have made some good plans for next year - good luck and have a good Christmas! Hope that the kids are on the mend and are ok for santas visit.

    SD

PS I`d hang the ironing on hangers in the bathroom a couple of items at a time so that the steam helps the creases to fall out, most of it would probably be able to be put away then without getting the dreaded iron out :D It would freeze in the boot of the car.
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Thanks Sunnyday, the ironing has been done :j . There is still washing in the basket but not a lot, so I'm declaring the WM out of use until after xmas day.

House is not yet clean, but not in too much of a mess, I think I'll just carry on all night as DH has gone out with friends for drinks and curry round the corner, so will mop and dust when kids go to bed.
It may stop me from pigging out on quality street- then tin is now open (one day early!)

I have to go and set table for dinner round mums tomorrow, plus have all my family and some of DH's round for lunch.
Luckily I'm only doing a sandwich type buffet, as my MIL has refused to come at 1pm with everyone else and will only attend after 2pm, there is no reason for this , just suits her better:mad:
Afetr a little rant at OH we will still do the food for 1pm as we have elderly and diabetic family that want to eat early.
If it was anyone else I would'nt mind but my inlaws always have to do things on their terms, to be honest I don't think they really want to come anyway, which I find hard to understand with 3 grandchildren.

Sorry everyone, you can tell its nearly xmas as I'm stressed out with the inlaws and I have'nt seen them yet :rotfl:

I am so relieved that I dont live close to family. I love them of course but if I lived nearby I would be a 100 times more stressed with certain people!
I was thinking of having 'some' of them over for new year BUT my younger sister is 37 weeks preggers and I dont think they will want to be too far away from the hospital as its her first. And my mum wouldnt want to sleep over which would mean them travelling back late which also wouldnt be good for sis. My other sis doesnt drive so if she came I would have to travel to pick her up and take her back.

Merry Xmas Newgiry, thank you for chatting away with me on my thread so i am not chatting to myself lol
