£1.50 is a perfectly normal price for milk. What you should be complaining about is their previous predatory price.

Um - maybe we are complaining because the milk has always been £1 ever since it was introduced well over a year ago.
Perhaps you are happy paying 53% more for your goods.

FWIW I noticed this morning that Iceland had put up the price of 4 pints from £1 to £1.10.

its worth the extra 53p, only 7 cals more than skimmed or UHT per 100ml but it actually tastes like milk and not like water or liquidised plastic ...

I've been buying 2 x 4pts (2l?) of milk from Farmfoods for weeks but this week they had no milk at all and neither did Iceland (is it air freighted?). Ended up with £1.53 (4pts) milk from Waitrose. Of course I resented the (almost) double price!!!
  • As far as I'm aware, Sainsbury's always charged £1 for the 1% milk because they wanted to raise awareness of the new product, the price rise means it's nearer the price of any other 4 pt of milk.

Also, they're currently pushing the new milk bags and 'jugits' which save 75% on packaging so maybe that's why they've made the changes.

I looked through all the milk bottles today to find the cheapest (semi skimmed or full) 4 pints. Turned out to be a branded (can't remember which, sorry) 2 litre bottle which was 67p/l rather than Sainsbury's which was now 67.3p
