Sainsbury's 1% Milk 4 Pints 53% price increase

Just to warn others that Sainsbury's have increased the cost of their 1% fat 4 pints (orange top) from £1 to £1.53.

It is still £1 if you buy two. (2 for £2.00).

But if you just get the one or need three then you will be hit with the 53% price increase.

I were still charged a quid for it Monday, but as mentioned previously on these threads they have bought out a different milk recently with a red cap that is currently being sold for £1 a bottle.

Just seen the increase online as I do my 'end of month' order for the 28th. No sign of it being 2 for £2 then, or of there being a red cap milk for £1, just an increase to £1.53 :(

Noticed this when self checking-out on Tuesday and was horrified. Also noticed the bag of Basics peppers is now over £1.60 and broccoli price seems to have gone through the roof!

The normal price was about £1.50 for 4 pints. It's simply that the offer has ended, not that the price has gone up 50 odd % :)

The orange top 1% fat milk has always been £1 in my local Sainsbury's ever since they introduced it a few years ago. It has never been £1.50.

It has always been at the £1 price in my Sainsbury's. Asda has put up their 1% milk (purple top) to £1.08 so that may be the one to keep an eye on if Sainsbury's go up to £1.50+

It made me laugh for a while because at our local Sainsbury's orange top was £1 each or two for £2 :rotfl:
