Help Reducing Fee's paid to SKY

Hi, I have been with sky for over a year now and i'm paying around 80quid a month for HD/Multi-room/Sports and Movies. I've read a few things on various sites about reducing this fee as everyone else seems to be getting better deals. However, when i phoned up there to cancel and got through to the cancellation department, i explained i had been offered a much better deal with Virgin Media and wished to cancel, the guy just proceeded to cancel my deal saying it would take 31 days to cancel out. I asked him to hold for 24hours to i check out my virgin deal for definite. HAs any1 any ideas or tips from past/current expierances???:mad::mad:

They offered me nothing - I called back 3 weeks later to speak to their "winback" team and was offered... nothing... It gets cancelled next week, I have called Virgin Media a total of 6 times to see what they can do and they don't understand me or I don't understand them, I won't be going with them as they can't even sort out a sale so god knows what it would be like if i ever had a problem

call them back to try again... In my experience it totally depends who you get through too..

I had 4 calls to sky offering nothing, refusing to help, then the 5th I got free skyHD box, free install and free HD subscription for 12 months...

Some people are just more helpful than others
