New mum pamper kit

Knowing how tired and drained and looking like hell new motherhood can leave me and with it fast approaching that time again, I have decided to fill a little basket with pampering goodies to keep in the living room. If I get a few minutes to myself I can dip into my kit for something indulgent and hopefully make myself look and feel a little better. Here is my list of things I'll put in....

A nice rich hand cream or body lotion
Under eye roll on (for those dark circles)
Nail file
Nail polish remover pads and pale pink nail polish
Lip balm

Can anyone think of anything else?

Face mask. Wax for your 'tache or eyebrows, magnifying mirror for using with these. eyelash curlers and mascara (even if you haven't got makeup on doing your lashes makes most of us lokk miles better.)

what about one of those pressure point aromatherapy roll ons?
I think you use them on the inside of your wrist....

and although it wont make you look better (necessarily) what about some relaxing tea, like camomile.....

and the obligatory hidden bar of chocolate..... :)

What about some nice perfume or body spray as when you have been rushing about all day it can make you feel much fresher until you have a chance to get a shower etc. Nothing too strong though I guess as baby might not like it :)

not neccessarily pamper related but maybe useful:

What about a cooling gel eye mask?
Hair bobbles/slide/headband maybe (I know mine are always snapping an it's a pain trying to find another and I'm not even a mum!!)
painkillers (friends have said afterwards is bad)
vitamin c energy booster (if allowed)
    notebook for writing down thoughts/feelings.

    Favourite film/CD/gadget (like DS/PSP/camera maybe).

Not sure of anything else apart from my friend said that when her Son was born she had constant visits from her mil when she needed privacy so maybe move the chair away from a window?

Would vote for lots of chocolate - and big box of biscuits for "emergency" use.

I'd include some fruit pastilles - if you keep your basket near you, you can grab one when you're too busy with the baby to go and get a drink.

I'd also include a puzzle book and pen, but you might not enjoy puzzles.

Facial wipes are good to freshen you up quickly.

A book to dip into - I find I can read certain authors this way (usually sagas set in the thirties or thereabouts. You know the type of thing, rags to riches. I keep one in the car to read when I park up near school to pick up my kids, as it is easy to pick up and put down without losing the storyline)

    Scented candle?

When SIL had our Nephew, I put something similar together. The thing she said she appreciated most was some posh lavender bubble bath, body lotion and a pillow spray to help her sleep/relax.
