Anyone had dealings with Accord Mortgages recently?

First of all, you need to understand that a mortgage relates to a specific property. If you move home, then you need to have a new mortgage on the new home and any sensible lender will underwrite this accordingly.
Why is it wrong for a lender to establish what you are earning and whether you can afford the repayments for the agreed term of the mortgage?I knew what I was getting into with regards payments and so on however when it came to moving house I didn't expect Accord to contact my employers HR department and request a faxed copy of my signed contract of employment and why are they asking for a valuation of my pension funds. You can only take 25% of these as a lump sum anyway at retirement yet Accord would seem to want access to these funds in order to loan me back the money they have already lent me.
And they are verifying this. Can I meet the mortgage payments, yes, can I make overpayments, yes.
Probably because a valuer employed by you will do what you want. Their valuer will protect their interests as a lender. Why do Accord not allow you to use your own surveyor versus their own people.
I don't know of any lender that will let the borrower select the valuer.0
