Help please - what plants/flowers to put out front of house...?

Hi All
Am just re-painting the whole front of the house before selling, I grow my own veg, fruit roses etc out the back on the roof but I wondered what I could put in the front garden to mae it look more attractive
It currently has daffodils, tulips (pink and purple) and Ivy
Was thinking of getting one big plant pot and filling it with flowers and maybe hanging flowers/plants - where to get a cheap pot from?
