Buyer reselling my item as 'BNWT' when it's not

I sold an item of clothing on eBay a while ago. Never heard back from the buyer so I was going to send a message to check they'd received it as another item I sent at the same time went missing in the post and I was a bit worried. Looked at the seller's account and they're selling the item on but advertising it as brand new with tags. The item has been worn and washed quite a lot, I know it's not really my business now but it makes me feel bad that someone's going to buy that expecting it to be pristine when it's not! If I report the listing to eBay will they pay any attention? I looked at the seller's history and I can see that they do this quite a lot, buying something worn quite cheaply and then selling it on as brand new a month or two later, I presume they're able to get the tags from somewhere as it's all the same shop's clothing.

Sounds really bad - but wouldn't buyers notice? They are a bit stupid to do it on the same ebay acount, if they had any sense they would have one account for buying and another for selling.
You can't really report the listing to ebay as you have no proof that the item is not new.
In the pics do the items have tags on them?My daughters are my world0 -
Do they actually state anywhere apart from BNWT that it is new? Do they say 'new' in their item description.
You see, I always thought that BNWT meant 'buy now while time' as in 'buy this in a hurry before it gets snapped up'...
But then I'm a bit naive..."carpe that diem"0 -
It is usually accepted than BNWT means Brand New With Tag.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I bought a bikini on ebay listed as brand new with tags, it arrived and as soon as opened it i knew it wasnt new, to start with i could smell that smell that worn swimsuits get, like what they clean the pool with, then you could see the massive hole the seller made to stick the tags thro and the hygiene strip wasnt the same as others from this make and was out of place, on further inspection i discovered a stain in the bottoms under the hygiene strip thats a pinkish/red colour!!! lovely - its clearly not BNWT or even new, still waiting for the sellers reply a week later, but a IND will be opened sat if no response.
I think a few bad sellers to sell items on!! its very annoying
I know a friends ebay account username so i often sneak a peak of whats shes selling, she bought something a week ago on ebay wore ita few times and decided she didnt like it, shes now selling it on as 'worn once'! when its already 2nd hand!0 -
Leave feedback- assuming it's not a private auction the item title will show up.
Make it clear they are the buyer of your item as well
I doubt ebay will do anything tbh, but always a good idea to let them know. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0 -
"shes now selling it on as 'worn once'! when its already 2nd hand!"
How is this misleading? It tells me the item has been worn, ergo is 2nd hand, but just not very often.0 -
Buy it back. Then, if it is the one you sold, go berserk on the feedback. If it's not - oops.0
