Minor disaster... Am I too late? Also, cheap chilli plants?

I put my lovely tomato plants, chilli plants and cucumber seedlings out into my mini greenhouse yesterday and came home from work to find them all dead! Cooked!! So to be honest I'm gutted, but its my own fault. I didnt ventilate them because although it was sunny is was pretty breezy and didnt want to leave the door open.

So, now all I have left are a half a dozen cherrry toms that I grew from seeds I dried myself from a cheap (probably not very good variety) cherry tomato from Tesco. And 2 chilli seedlings and a cucumber seedling. And the only reason this lot survived is because I didnt bother putting them outside!!

So really my question is... Am I too late to plant some tomatoes from seed, at the weekend say? I have another packet of tomato seeds which I was saving for next year (Ailsa Craig).

Also, am I too late to plant more chilli seeds or cucumber seeds? If I can buy some from somewhere local. Or does anyone know where I can get cheap chilli or (female only) cucumber plants?

No problem with still planting tomato or chilli seeds, especially if you can keep them in the warm for a while to catch up. I have planted both much later than this in the past and still had reasonable crops.

If you have car boot sales near you, it may be worth buying some plants from growers there.

I haven't even started off my tomatoes yet, have to say. In Scotland we run about 2-3 weeks behind the timings given in the gardening books, which are all written for the south of England.

It's not too late for tomatoes. I've Just started cucumbers, not even thinking about french or runner beans yet. It's still too cold for lots of things, so no rush.
