Hi,
If someone sends me a paypal payment for a transaction outside EBay can they claim thier money back from me?
What I am getting at here is, can they cliam the money back if they approach Paypal stating the goods didnt arrive etc.
Or can they simply do a charge back?
The item I am selling is £275

It doesn't matter whether it was ebay or not a claim can still be made for non arrival of goods. However you can of course protect yoruself by making sure you send the goods fully trackable, oh, and insured for your own benefit in case RM lose them.
Incidentally making sure you are fully insured against loss should be automatic, not just when you use paypal. Even if you took a cheque and the person didn't receive their goods and you could not prove receipt then you are likely to end up in the small claims court for that sort of money.

I agree.....
I take many payments direct through paypal, i also make several direct.
As long as you protect yourself fully from chargebacks etc as Soolin says you shouldnt have a problem.

of course, you need to research the buyer a bit
get a confirmed postal address for them AND a landline number
it'll make things much easier when you need to hunt them downmoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Thanks for the replier.
Ok, in this case a US company has now paid me £275 via Paypal to write a strategy document for them.
I have done this in good faith and emailed it accross to them, other than a copy of the email there is nothing more i can do.
Can they still claim non recipt etc, how much at risk am here of having the £275 charged back
Thanks:beer:0
