How close can a gas hob be to a tall larder unit?

The regs and instructions are absolutely fine...
Until someone puts a great big pot on the burner close to the cabinet and whacks the heat up.
The heat spillage can and, often does, heat the unit up. Most kitchen units, in my experience, will withstand about 100˚C or so, go over that and expect damage or discolouration or, both.
The point it, it depends on the way that the hob is used.
Personally I wouldn't go under a 300mm minimum from a unit to the edge of the hob and, even at that, I'd be wary.

It might be worth fitting one of those stainless steel splashbacks to the side of the adjacent unit to give some protection from the immediate heat.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
