hi all,
i'm getting a bit browned off with npower, sending me bills when they don't supply electric to my property.
i changed from npower to scottish power in august last year, then to eon in october.
i explain to npower they don't supply electric no more so why the bills?.
they say we will look into this and contact you shortly.
i've told them i recieved a final bill off them when i switched to scottish power, but seems they carry on sending stupid electric bills.....this is the 2nd one now.
i told them to call me back,so fed up calling 0845 numbers and paying for it,and on the phone for sometimes over half an hour:mad:
has anybody else experienced npower being so stupid and recieving threatning letters to disconnect your electric?.

    Hi jasetec

Have you received a bill from us yet? If so, just check the meter serial number we are charging against is the same as the one on your meter.

Sometimes, when accounts transfer, we can pick up the wrong meter details.

Not saying this is the case but give us a call if it is so we can start to put things right.

    Hello again jasetec

As the numbers match, it looks as though we have taken over the correct supply.

In which case, I'm afraid it's over to Npower. Just thought I might have been able to help if we had made a mess of taking over the supply.

Any chance you still owe them for usage from when you were with them?

It may also be what is called a 'delayed account closure'. When you move supplier, various companies are contacted (such as the company that read your meter, for instance) including (obviously) your old supplier to let them know they don't need to continue after your supply start date with the new company. Sometimes these messages get a little confused and don't seem to go where they are supposed to or activate the close down of your old account. Give them a call and ask them to check the suppliers database for electricity (called Ecoes) to confirm you are with another company (or otherwise). If you are with another company, they'll escalate the issue to their management teams and get your account closed, usually very quickly. HTH
