Outlook migration Office 07 to 2010 beta

I received an email saying I could upgrade to Microsoft office 2010 beta for free so I took advantage of this offer.

What happened was the Outlook destroyed all my carefully constructed system of folders and sub-folders which, appear to be in "personal" folders and left mayhem which meant I had to perform a system restore to repair the damage and potentially lost emails.

does anyone have a foolproof method of upgrading Outlook without this disaster ensuing?

I wouldn't bother if I were you.

Office BETA runs out in October and then you have to pay for it......

Thank you for these suggestions, so it's a Microsoft con? would there any reduction in price offered by them for participating in the Beta trial? I would have thought so but I'm an optimist, I'll see if I can find out.

I don't believe it is. It is also quite pricey.

They haven't released these prices officially though.

Looks like I will have to start entering Microsoft competitions on Competitions Time as that is how I won Office Ultimate 2007!

I did some background reading on Beta in Google and it appears that, even if you are running 07 and 10 in parallel, you would have to reinstall 07 when Beta expires next Halloween. I think I'm going to spend my time on learning how to understand the software I've already got, properly!
