Not sure what to do about this one so i need your help?
We live in a terraced area so parking space is at a premium with cars often double parked. Just down the road we have some new people living in a flat whihch i think is rented, never seen it up for sale and there is a turn over of new people living there. I maybe wrong.
One of the people living here drivers his car like a nutter, wheel spins drives way too fast, with it being the school holidays i think its only a matter of time for the worst to happen.
This person is difficult to approach and whilst i dont mind him losing his temper and having a go at me, I teach martial arts anyway,i go to work and my wife would be at home.
Any thoughts?
Council, Police?
Thanks
Martin

I'm sure you can report dangerous driving to the police. Give them his registration number and a log of all the things he's done. Could you possibly get video footage of him?0

Thanks for the quick reply,
Ive thought about video footage but i think due to were i live if the idiot driver saw the video he could identify which location it was recorded from.
Im off work for another week yet and I do have a friend who works for the police force, sadly not Staffordshire, so the next time i see him i might ask him.
My wife has been saying for a couple of weeks now theres a new idiot driver around but being a typical man i didnt pay a lot of attention to it, now i no better.
Thanks0 -
Just report it to the police and they may monitor the situation - tell them you dont want him to know who reported him but it was a concerned resident as you are concerned for the safety of your family and others in the vicintiy of this driver!Weight Loss - 102lb0

I would report it to the police, even if they dont take any action to start with it does mean that if somebdoy else also comes forward with a similar complaint they will take it more seriously.0

I dont think you stand any chance of getting anywhere with this unless you can get some evidence of the way this to$$er drives. Basically the police dont have time to sit around waiting for this guy to come out of his flat for a little joyride and probably wont follow up your complaint. Also if i didnt like my neighbour i could just report him willy nilly for being a loony driver if it was that easy.
Give it a go though, it doesnt do any harm but i really think video is the only way of catching him. At least if you ask the police they can advise what they need to take action.0 -
We live on a cul-de-sac,and a few years ago,one of the residents daughters, who lives at the top of the street, was going out with a guy who used to come down to the bottom, and do that, and we have quite a few kids that play in the turning point.
Anyhow,I was talking to one of the neighbours, who has since moved on,when Nigel Mansell's long lost cousin, came down, and did his usual, and shot off up the street, but didn't bargain on what happened next,as the neighbour shot off after him on foot, got to where he was parked, and nearly ripped the door, and this guys head off,and threatend him that if he ever did that again, when kids were playing on the street,he would be needing a disabled car,as he wouldn't have any legs to drive his current one!!!!!
Funny how we never saw him again after that..............
Ken.That's my mutt in the picture above.0 -
You can contact the police and if you are convincing enough (even without video evidence) they will go and have a word with the idiot driver. They wont be able to take further action without evidence but at least it might encourage him to slow down if he thinks they are keeping a closer eye on him!
Good luck0 -
Do you have a local community police officer? My son does karate at the local community centre, its located on a road to nowhere that serves only garages. Some of the residents complained due to the road be blocked by some people inconsideratley double parking for about 2 minutes. A notice went up from the police asking people not to park in front of the centre, it was ignored by some for two weeks, following week, two police officers stood outside community centre, parking hasn't been a problem since.
As an aside, my old boss had a problem with an idiotic driver a number of years ago, in the end he told the guy that if he carried in driving like an idiot he would get copies of the idiots number plates made up & drive as fast as he could past ever speed camera in the area. The guy rightly pointed out that he had a BMW while my boss had an Audi so it would be obvious to the courts that somebody was trying to stitch him up. His face was a picture the next morning when my boss turned up in a BMW (borrowed from the local dealer on a 24 hour test drive) and told the guy he was on the way to the motor factors to get a set of plates made up.0
