Shower and bath problem

Hi - Can anyone help?
I have a mira 415 shower which is neary 7 years old and linked to my combi boiler. Have had no problems until the last week or so. The water will not get hot and it remains cold. :mad:But if I run the hot water in the kitchen sink the combi boiler kicks in (burner light comes on) and it starts to work! :j Is there something wrong with the boiler or the shower itself. Nothing wrong with the hot water from kitchen or bathroom sink. But also my hot water tap in the bath is also playing up turns on fine and hot water comes out but water flow decreases to a dribble and then when I try and turn the tap itself it sticks. So you can imagine the fun in my house when its bath or shower time.:rotfl:
Any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds to me like there is a problem with the plumbing rather than the shower as the bath tap is obviously not getting hot water either. Is the sink hot tap ok?0

Bath tap water comes out hot as does the sink and kitchen taps. Bath tap just loses flow but it still is hot. Which means it would take ages to fill bath. In fact if I let it run I would imagine the water would just stop in the end. Its really strange. Am also getting knocking noise as if there was air in the pipes too. Have had water switched off recently as had a problem with tap in bathroom sink which is now fixed (needed a new washer). Not sure if it is all linked0

IF you've recently had work done and this problem has been there ever since get the plumber back to look at the problem.0

It was my Father doing me a favour! Time for a plumber I think0

Sounds like a plan. There are ways to try and force out airlocks by linking taps together etc but if you only have mixers its a bit more problematic. Try googling it.0

try turning the stopcock on more. the pressure sounds as if its not high enough.
combis work on mains pressure. and they sense the pressure drop/flow when you open a tap.
has the pipe to the bath/shower got a valve in it? there maybe a partial blockage too.
all combis take ages to fill a bath.
the airlock trick with a hose is really only for gravity/tank systems.Get some gorm.0
