Broken Schreiber Fridge - Advice please?

Hello,
We have had our house for about 3 1/2 years now and the integrated Schreiber fridge came with the house so I can not be certain about how old it is.
It is a Schreiber APP6302. It turned itself off about two months ago, was dead for about half an hour and then started working again of it's own accord. Everything has been normal since then until this morning when it died again. It actually tripped the fuse for the kitchen sockets when it went off and now the light will not come on, it is not making any cooling noises and it is clearly not cooling any of the food anymore.
I have resigned myself to the fact that the fridge is probably beyond repair as it is so old, but I have no idea about how to go about getting a replacement to fit the space in the unit. I also have limited funds.
Can anyone help please (not with the funds - just re how to get a replacement to fit that space)?
Thank you in anticipation!

Have you plugged it into another socket to check that is is the fridge and not the socket that is causing the trip (though it seems unlikely)?
Could just be a loose wire or fuse blown in the plug, worth checking that before you buy a new one.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Good idea..... I have no idea how to even begin to get to the plug though
So I will have to wait until the other half gets home and try that then. 0 -
Look at the back of the fridge and follow the cable along...not always easy with an integrated appliance though. No free lunch, and no free laptop
