Bank charge for exceeding overdraft - advice please

Hi all,
Every month I make an outgoing payment of £280 on the 12th of the month, and to cover this and other costs in that month, I have an incoming payment from another account of £700 on the 10th of the month.
Up until now this has all worked fine, but this month, the 10th fell on a Saturday. As such, my £700 incoming and £280 outgoing were processed on the same day, Monday 12th. Prior to Monday, my account was within £200 of the overdraft limit.
Naturally, as I had scheduled the £700 incoming to be processed two days PRIOR to the outgoing charge, I had assumed that on the Monday, the £700 incoming would be charged first. Apparently not!
I had assumed everything was fine, but received a letter today stating that my £280 payment had taken me over my overdraft limit. I have been charged £20.
I usually anticipate the £700 coming into the account beforehand, as it's scheduled for 2 days before, but they would probably say it's "my fault" for not checking about it being a weekend this month. Nonetheless I'm upset and angry.
Do I have a leg to stand on if I complain to the bank about this charge?

....but if you're a long standing customer and its a first offence you might have luck pleading with them and get a goodwill refund out of them.
these BACS type payments can take up to 4-5 working days to be processed (ie 0 days, 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 4 days OR 5 days) so if you have 2 setup reliant on a processing time difference of less than this there is always goiung to be a good chance of them missing eachother eventually.
you should leave 6-7 days between payments like this to be on the safe side, esp if close to O/D penalties0 -
I just rang them and got a "goodwill" refund
