Once you move in all claims will need to be joint. She will need to stop claiming IS and your JSA will become a joint claim.
    Gone ... or have I?

A calculator from the government website that will tell you what your entitled to and how much can be claimed.

I have used it and worked all mine out correctly :D

The simple answer is that only one person can claim income based benefits

The benefits you receive individually totaled is more than a couple receives.

Only one of you can claim as a couple, be it for JSA HB or CT

It depends on how you look at it, either you think your girlfriend is losing out, you are losing out or...you are gaining a home?

Or looking at it a different way, he could claim housing allowance for another house thus costing the taxpayer two sets of allowance instead of one and encouraging single parentship instead of families.
