P87 Expenses

Hi,
Each year I complete a P87 to claim tax relief on business travel in my own car.
My wife over the last year has been working as a care worker. It's low pay and part time hours so she pays little or no tax however she does have to fund her own fuel for traveling between jobs as well as provide her own transport which has added up to a significant ammount of millage.
Can she also claim something back similar to a P87?
Many thanks

Hi there,
Yes she can download the P87 from the HMRC website, she will receive 40p/mile for the mileage she has claimed for. Be sure to make sure it's the correct amount, cos they can, and do on occasions, ask you to back up your claim with information.
A cheap diary in the ducket of the car, with the start mileage / end mileage and postcodes of the addresses visited during the day will suffice.
