I really feel for you raspabarbas, my brother is on a stag weekend from today and his flight has been cancelled so it looks bad today too... hope it gets better.

They might be letting flights into some parts of the country (west Scotland/Ireland) etc according to Yahoo news. Craziest thing I've ever heard to be honest.

it's a pain in the butt though hope your best man manages to make it to the big day!

hopefully the OH parentals might make it over today as they're flight isn't till 5pm. It's taking me and the OH months to get the "meeting of the parents" organised cause of how busy we've been and also trying to get a weekend when both sets of parents were free, if they don't get flights they might not get to meet till the eve of the wedding at this rate :rotfl:

Breaking news from sky is that flights will be grounded till 1am Saturday, however there are still some getting to fly

Only some flights from Glasgow to & from Western Isles, not all of them & only on individual basis.

No flights in or out of the UK airspace until at least 1am Saturday.

Talking of unusual things potentially messing up weddings - can anyone beat Somalian pirates? My FIL works at sea - so we dutifully booked our wedding around his duty rotation - having sat and carefully counted the months on/months off to make sure he was in the country for the planned date. He then comes off on shore leave - only for his ship to be hijacked by Somalian pirates (yes that massive tanker that was on the news the other year) - am I a bad person that one of my first thoughts was "oh god I hope this doesn't throw his duty rotations out and muck up the wedding?"

It didn't in the end but I never thought I'd have to factor piracy into the wedding calculations!

Hope they all get to where they need to be all right.

aghhhhhhhhhhhhh easyjet are being a nightmare! checked the website to see if OH parents flight has been cancelled yet and it's not even on the flight list anymore!

how can we get a transfer or refund if the bloomin flight isn't listed :question: :mad:
