Thank you so much, Iceland!
Sorry to hear about that. Hope you get around it
It wont solve your problem, but it might help to watch the National Geographic 'air crash investigations' program; a cloud of volcanic ash almost brought down a BA jumbo jet flying over the Pacific a few years ago after the fine particles from an erupting volcano there blocked all the engines..
Luckily the crew managed to re-start the engines minutes before disaster as it plummeted to the sea. :T
The phenomenon was previously unknown but has now led to the introduction of more safety controls.Marching On Together
I've upped my standards...so up yours!

The cloud of volcanic ash is now spread across the UK and continuing to travel south. In line with international civil aviation policy, no flights other than agreed emergencies are currently permitted in UK controlled airspace. Following a review of the latest Met Office information, NATS advises that these restrictions will remain in place in UK controlled airspace until 0700 (UK time) tomorrow, Friday 16 April, at the earliest. We will review further Met Office information and at 2000 today (UK time) we will advise the arrangements that will be in place through to 1300 (UK time) tomorrow.
We continue to work closely with airports, airlines, and the rest of Europe to understand and mitigate the implications of the volcanic eruption
That's nothing in or out of this country, till at least 7.00am, and maybe later.

well i've made an apt to get my roots done tomorrow, just in case:D
Have you any news on your relatives, are they on there way by boat or train?0 -
Thanks for the links and your good vibes. One couple managed to get a ferry, so they're driving up from maidenhead, but there's still two in amsterdam, two in germany and the best man is somewhere between Panama and madrid and we haven't heard from him.
Latest reports are that the cloud is drifting slowly and the restrictions might be in place for another 48 hours.
Luckily the wedding is not til 4pm so people have a bit longer to get there than if it was in the morning.
Fingers crossed too...Married Ajichombo on 17th April 2010 :j0
